Impact of Physical Fitness Training on Selected Health Related Fitness Variables

Abstract :

The study was aimed to investigate the impact of physical fitness training on selected health related fitness variables.
It was hypothesized that there would be a significant changes on the body composition, muscular strength, muscular
endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular efficiency of trainees after five months of training due to different intensities, frequencies, and time of physical fitness training. To achieve the purpose of the study there were 85 total populations of gym trainees from the four known fitness centers in Assosa town and the subjects of the study were totally 60 in numbers such as 50 trainees, 8 trainers, and 2 experts of the region sport commission were participated. The study was used both quantitative, qualitative and quasi-experimental research methods and simple random and purposive sampling techniques for selecting the samples. Questionnaires, interviews, observations, and fitness test measures, such as BMI test using kilogram and meter, Chin-up test using seconds, sitting tuck test using seconds, Sit and reach test using centimeters and step test using minutes were used as tools of data. Analysis of the test result is by comparing the fitness test results after 5 months training with the trainee’s previous fitness results for the specific test. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods such as tables and percentage from test results and the data. The overall study revealed that there were significant changes on the body composition, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular efficiency of trainees after 5 months of training.
