Impact of Type of Sports on Selected Motor Fitness Components and Co-ordinative Abilities of Women Sports Participants at Inter-Collegiate Level

Abstract :
The purpose of the study was to find out the impact of type of sports on selected motor fitness components and
coordinative abilities of women sports participants at inter-collegiate level. To achieve these purpose players from sports such as basketball, kabaddi, football, handball, volleyball, badminton and ball badminton totally-90 were selected from Bharathiar university, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. Based on the type of sports this were divided into body contact (basketball, kabaddi, football, handball, N=40) and non-body contact (volleyball, badminton and ball badminton, N=50).The age of the selected subjects were ranged from 18-24.The selected variables for this study to analysis between motor fitness components and coordinate abilities variables of female players such as speed, agility, leg explosive power, reaction time, hand and eye coordination and depth perception. The data were collected by using standardized tools. The reading has been taken for both type of sports and the readings have been carefully recorded. The collected data were analyzed statistically by using one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). For this study, 0.05 level of significance was fixed to test the level of significances. The result of the study shows that the two type of variance one is that there was no significant mean difference between body contact and non-body contact sports on coordinate abilities and next that there was a significant mean difference between body contact and non-body contact sports on motor fitness components.
