Influence of Simplified Kundalini Yoga with Meditation on Selected Physiological Variables among Diabetic Patients

Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to find out the influence of simplified kundalini yoga with meditation on selected
physiological variables among diabetic patients. To achieve the purpose of the present study, forty five diabetic patients those who are working in Vidyaa Vikas Educational Institutions, Tiruchengodu, Tamilnadu, India were selected as subjects at random and their ages ranged from 35 to 45 years. The subjects were divided into two equal groups of fifteen subjects each. Group I acted as Experimental Group I (Simplified Kundalini Yoga with Meditation) and Group II acted as Control Group. Resting pulse rate was measured by using stethoscope and blood pressure was measured using sphygmomanometer. The duration of experimental period was 12 weeks. The pre test and post test scores were subjected to statistical analysis using dependant ‘t’ test. In all cases, 0.05 level of significance was fixed to test hypotheses. The result reveals that the simplified kundalini yoga with meditation group showed better performance on resting heart rate, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure than the control group.
